The Research and Business Committee contributes to the strategic development of AU Natural Sciences with repect to research, recruitment of scientific staff, innovation and research-based entrepreneurship, and collaboration and knowledge exchange with external partners.
Members of the committee represent the departments, iNANO and the Dean's Office at AU Natural Sciences. The departments and iNANO have local research and business committees which provide advice wfo the faculty committee concering, among others, research and innovation strategies.
Twice each year, the local research and business commitees, and later Nat's Research and Business Committees discuss ideas with potential for large-scale funding by private foundations, outside of open calls (cf. invitation and proces for semiannual ideations).
