Rooms at NAT ready for hybrid teaching via Zoom
A total of 30 rooms are now operational at the faculty; ready for teaching staff and students to try their hand at Hybrid Zoom teaching.

Four-five classrooms at each department at the faculty have been equipped with cameras and microphones to use with Zoom and Brightspace. The departments themselves selected the rooms to be equipped and the teaching staff who can use them.
Simple, step-by-step instructions on how to use the equipment are displayed on screens and laminated flyers in the rooms.
Everyone can participate in teaching
The difference between these hybrid classrooms and the equipment available for online teaching in the lecture theatres is that, in the hybrid classrooms, students sitting at home can participate actively on an equal footing with the students who are present in person.
"Hybrid teaching means that teaching takes place on site and online simultaneously, and that students can get just as much out of teaching, even they aren’t present in person. A screen has been set up in the classroom so teachers can see the students who are online, and microphones have been installed in the ceilings, so online students can follow what’s going on in the room," says Bjarne Nørgaard, AV coordinator for NAT/TECH.
Try it out
Getting started using the hybrid Zoom room is easy, just follow the instructions on the screens and try it out.
"I’d suggest just having a go. It's not difficult. You may need to come in half an hour earlier when you first use the equipment, but once you've tried it out, it's very user-friendly and straightforward," says Bjarne Nørgaard.
