		New vice-dean for education at Natural Sciences Kristine Kilså is to be the new vice-dean for education at Natural Sciences from 1 December. Kristine comes from a position as the head of studies administration in Sweden, and she has solid management experience in the field of education, in addition to an academic career in chemistry and nanoscience. "Kristine has a really strong profile in the field of education, and she is used to navigating as a manager within an area with great political attention. I'm sure that she can contribute and have a major impact on the faculty's development, not least for the development and quality assurance of degree programmes and teaching, and I'm very much looking forward to our collaboration," says Dean Kristian Pedersen. >>>

		New vice-dean for research at Natural Sciences David Lundbek Egholm will be the new vice-dean for research from 1 November. He comes from a position as a professor of climate and ice dynamics at the Department of Geoscience at Aarhus University and he also has solid experience with research management and external research funding. "As well as being a strong researcher, David also has extensive experience with research support structures, and paving the way for scientific research and development at the highest level is his lifeblood. He’s also aware that we must constantly ensure the necessary talent pool and ensure good conditions for both new PhD students and seasoned professors. I'm sure that he’ll be a driving force in further developing the faculty," says Dean Kristian Pedersen. >>>

		Almost DKK 120 million for biodiversity research at AU Professor Trine Bilde and Professor Signe Normand from the Department of Biology will receive a total of DKK 119.1 million to establish research centres to find research-based solutions to future-proofing biodiversity in a volatile climate with ever-increasing resource needs. The grants are from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and are a part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge Programme. >>>

		Stand for the AU election It will soon be time to register as a candidate and vote in the university elections. This year, members of a new Academic Council at Nat and of the Board of Studies and the PhD Committee have to be elected, as well as student representatives for the Board. 		DKK 15 million from Novo for research in the clouds The Novo Nordisk Foundation has granted DKK 15 million from its interdisciplinary synergy programme to project DRAMA. With researchers from both Nat and Tech, the project will decipher the role of atmospheric microbial aerosols for cloud formation. >>>

		Grants for wild ideas VILLUM Experiment has just awarded grants to a number of researchers, who each represent innovative approaches to their research areas, and who can now test their courageous and strange technical and scientific research ideas. 		Master's student in Astronomy receives HRM Queen Margrethe II's travel grant Dina Sofia Mortensen from the Department of Physics and Astronomy receives one of this year's four HRM Queen Margrethe II's travel grants. The grant is DKK 25,000, and will give Dina Sofia Mortensen the opportunity to participate in conferences on exoplanets, where she can present the results from her thesis project.
